The Beekeeper

The movie The Beekeeper, which successfully deals with the themes of revenge and justice and reflects them to the audience, is remarkable as one of the productions that I think action fans should not miss.

At the center of the film's story is Adam Clay, who is a “beekeeper” and lives the life of a normal man who seems to be very sensitive to people who care about him.

“Don't believe what you hear, believe what you see” is one of those clichéd phrases that I think most of us know. Adam Clay's life may seem normal, but in reality it is quite dark. Believe what you hear, not what you see!

The dark side of his story is full of theses that turn that clichéd phrase on its head, and at the same time; I would say that he has the background that forms the action side of the movie.

The path from a character who works with beehives and produces honey to his attempt to kill the American president is quite ordinary for Adam Clay. We have the opportunity to observe this ordinariness through character reflections at every moment of the movie.

Even though the story may seem exaggerated to the audience, it is extremely naturalistic in its processing and progression. You have no difficulty adapting to the story and scenes that you think will be exaggerated.

The strong and determined stance of the character from the moment his loved ones are touched leads the audience to accept the action scenes in the movie in advance and increases the tension of the atmosphere in the story.

Another detail that can cause us as movie lovers to appreciate the story of the film is that throughout the film; the background games that are carried out under the name of governing the people are voiced at the highest level.

The tragic part of the story is that the system is questioned from the beginning to the end of the story and people who make a living in difficulties are robbed by the system itself. The character of Adam Clay is the one who exposes the system's fraud attempts and takes steps to end them.

The typical heroic figure in action movies, the person whose every action is accepted, is also present in The Beekeeper. In fact, this detail is one of the most important details that increases the pace of the movie's story.

I'm not talking about the similarity with hero movies where one side is always right. The life Adam Clay leads and the chain of events he opposes are the kind of things that each of us can accept. So I don't think the “hero” comparison doesn't bother anyone... but what he is a hero of is debatable!

While I think everyone will like The Beekeeper, I can say that it is one of the productions that action lovers should not miss. You won't find the opportunity to get bored at any moment of the movie because the story progression and pace will not allow that.
