Sous la Seine (Under Paris)

In movies with the theme of being attacked by a shark, the limited storyline can spoil the pleasure of watching because the effect of the monster is only valid in deep water. As soon as you get out of the water, the danger ends by itself.

I can say that Sous la Seine, one of Netflix's new productions, partially overcomes the above limit. Among the productions with the theme of monster in the water, which is one of the sub-genres of horror, I must say that it is extremely successful. I especially liked the shots and effects.

Of course, the aggressive sharks don't put legs on themselves and chase their prey out of the water, but innovations have been added compared to similar productions and these innovations have made the story of the movie more exciting. The species, which lives in the depths of the seas and oceans and has no chance to live outside of salt water, has been given some changes in terms of reproduction and habitat.

Thanks to this mutation, the viewing pleasure is not interrupted. The aggressive shark does not come out of the water, of course, but the expansion of its habitat and its easy reproduction cause it to encounter more people, and action-packed moments become the usual flow of the story.

After the scenes that start with a tragic accident right at the beginning of the movie, the movie already manages to keep you watching. The shooting of the scene I mentioned was really great. It gave me the impression of a commercial for a while, but that might be just me.

The story and story progression of the movie was quite good. I always believed that the presence of irresponsible politicians in productions that deal with public safety is one of the hidden messages of the movie because they are always present in every similar story. Heroes from the people are a must in films with a similar theme, and unlike politicians, they are very consistent about what and who they care about.

The protagonist of Sous la Seine is a scientist and the protagonist of the movie's opening story. Berenice Bejo, who plays the character of Sophia, gives a very successful performance with the tragic event she experienced and her subsequent comeback.

In general terms, Sous la Seine has managed to be one of Netflix's successful productions. The main element of the story was a mutated shark breed invading the river where people live in dense populations. The quote given at the beginning of the movie was like a clue about the mutation, but you can understand this after watching the movie for a while.

I highly recommend watching the movie Sous la Seine. I can say that it was a successful production with great visual shots. The fluidity of the movie and the excitement of the story were at high levels. It has an effect between horror and suspense and has excellent viewing pleasure.

Thank you very much for being here and reading. I hope I gave you an idea about the movie. I wish everyone who will watch it a good time. Hope to see you in my next article, goodbye!
