The 2024 movie I.S.S. I can say that I found it successful in terms of showing the last point of humanity that separates the world without borders into borders when viewed from space.
If I summarize the movie briefly, in the space station shared by astronauts consisting of 3 Russians and 3 Americans; It tells about the occupation struggle they give depending on the developments in the world. I would like to point out that I use the word occupation on purpose because the efforts of those who divide the world into borders and want to direct these borders in line with their own interests are carried to space and they do everything to take over the space station, which is a common use area.
I can say that the story, which may seem simple to many, but which is a tragedy for me, is extremely touching in the way it is handled. Although I find it strange to some extent that those who have been friendly for years in a place where each of them has 3-4 square meters of space, turn hostile after the orders they receive, we often come across similar stories in real life.
I can't really call the movie I.S.S., named after the space station, science fiction. The story, which leads up to the capture of the station after the US-Russia nuclear war that erupts unexpectedly on Earth, seems to me more suited to the war genre since it is a drama and a war-induced enmity.
Although the movie did not provide a wide storyline and the space was limited, it was quite good in terms of viewing pleasure. The fluidity and the atmosphere of the space station was successful. The nationalistic feelings expressed through the characters were overdeveloped in some of them, while in the remaining few characters, common sense was at the highest level possible in a human being.
Despite the limited space and the limited story, I think the actors contributed a lot to the success of the movie. Thanks to the mystery in the story, you don't know who is telling the truth and who is lying, so you can't decide who is good. It has a story that remains a mystery until the very end and when everything becomes clear, it throws the audience a bit of a curveball.
After the actors, I give the biggest credit to the screenwriter for the reasons I explained above. Although you can see some drawbacks in the story after the viewing, he didn't reflect any of them in the story of the movie. And what I like the most is that the suspense scenes are quite successful thanks to the mystery that is kept hidden until the last moment.
I recommend I.S.S. to anyone who likes the thriller and mystery genre. For those who like the sci-fi genre, the movie might not be enough. Personally, I liked the movie, the story and the acting. Although it has its drawbacks, I can say that the fluency and the viewing pleasure it offers are good.
Thank you for being here and reading. I hope I have given you enough insight to get a preliminary idea about the movie. I wish everyone who is going to watch it a good time. Take care and goodbye!
