Evidence

Evidence is a thriller mystery about the brutal murders committed after a bus crashes on its route.

The first thing I want to say about the movie is that you will forget the similar fictions you know so far. In terms of story progression and processing, the documentary-like production seems to have been successful in creating self-awareness.

First of all, the bus on the journey, the route of the bus, the accident and the murders committed after the accident can be similar to many movies we have seen so far, but the part that I think sets it apart from the others starts after all these actions and really adds extra value to the movie.

The process of solving the case after the murders is like a documentary. The video camera footage from the bus, which captures certain parts of the bus, is broadcast instantly, changing the direction of the story and giving the viewer an extra thrill.

Clues obtained from security cameras, cell phones and digital cameras are instantly shared with the audience and those moments create the impression that you are watching the whole thing from the sidelines and that you are in control of what is happening.

Of course, only one detail is not shared, and that is who the killer is! The mystery in this detail adds immersion to the movie. Seeing every piece of evidence in an instant makes it instinctive to make predictions about what will happen next, but I can already say that none of my predictions were correct and the movie kept the mystery of the killer until the very end.

The fact that the incident took place in an abandoned area and that the uncertainty increased the tension in the atmosphere of the movie were positive details for the viewer. I definitely see it as an advantage to experience similar stories in desolate, remote, forested areas away from the city. Of course, what I want to say here is not to be a victim of what happened, but to be a viewer! Lol

I would like to congratulate the director for his courage. The fact that most of the images that make up the story are hand-held digital and cell phone footage, and that those moments are presented vaguely, helps to create an atmosphere of ever-increasing tension. I think this kind of atmosphere is valuable for moviegoers, at least for me.

The idea of perfectly involving the audience in a classic detective story by putting technology at the center and sharing the evidence instantly had an impact on me as a viewer of the film.

The fact that there are vague images, shaking camera images, some disturbing images at the moments when the evidence is shared may be disturbing for the viewer, but I think it is appropriate for the fiction in the story. I recommend you to watch Evidence, but you should decide for yourself how my warnings will affect you.
