Time changes everything as it rushes by and engraves the traces of the past in our minds as memories. As we see new faces, we have to accept that the old faces have aged or been pushed back. Sometimes, due to poor performance, we allow them to fade away or demand a jubilee ourselves.
Life is cruel, but time is crueller and once lost it can never be turned back. I remember the best Jennifer Lopez movie I've ever seen was U Turn. For years I always put the name of the same movie next to Jennifer Lopez and identified the movie with her. The fact that she worked with two masters like Sean Penn and Nick Nolte has a lot to do with this, but for some reason; I think U Turn was a turning point for Jennifer Lopez.
Years later, with the character of Katalina Valdez in the movie Marry Me, my admiration for Jennifer Lopez once again blossomed. In the production, which I thought was show-oriented, Owen Wilson was also very successful with his sympathetic and funny appearance, but Jennifer Lopez, who better reflected the show part of the work, was my priority.
I can say that Atlas, one of #Netflix's new productions, is quite interesting with its current subject. The fiction about robots integrated with artificial intelligence getting out of control and starting to attack humans should definitely be watched and lessons should be learned.
Considering the subject matter of the movie, the question should be how those who create something smarter than themselves can keep control of it. It may sound complicated today, but it may be one of the realities we will have to face in the future.
Leaving artificial intelligence and robots aside, what should be questioned today is Jennifer Lopez's acting performance in the movie Atlas. 54 years old may be too early to say that someone is old, but old age is the term I would use to say that it starts to negatively affect the work they do.
A movie with a great script and the way the story is handled is wasted because of the failure of Jennifer Lopez's acting performance. Her transition from an analyst to a warrior and her attempt to turn what could have been an excellent sci-fi genre into a comedy was very bad. Jennifer Lopez seemed to make fun of the character she was portraying, not caring about her role at all and explaining that she had come to the end of the road in acting.
Insisting on certain names can turn things upside down. It can turn out to be a success or a failure. I would interpret Jennifer Lopez's acting in Atlas as a failure, but I can't say the same for the movie because the movie was quite good. It could have been much better with another name. I don't like Jennifer Lopez at all and if she is going to give similar performances, she shouldn't make movies at all! At least we will remember her for other movies we liked.
I can say that the movie Atlas is enjoyable to watch and quite remarkable in terms of its subject. There is a bit of Terminator influence in the movie, but this is not because it is a copy or a new version, but because of artificial intelligence. There are more and more productions where robots are trying to end humanity. I'm not criticizing it because I find it very relevant in today's world.
