My Once Dream Job

If there is something I have grown up to understand, it is the fact that sometimes life offer to us what we were not expecting. And I am talking about all round effects. I personally, been born in Nigeria, I have been someone who have always fall in love with the digital world majorly that surrounds the technology.

In fact, most of my childhood memories are made by moments interacting with technology either personally, with my families or my friends. I have been a technology lover and digital addict. I remember after finishing my junior secondary school which in Nigeria, they call it the JSS 3, I immediately enrolled to a cyber cafe to learn more about computer operation.

I was just barely 13 years old then but the love for technology drove me to learn more about the line. From my period at that cyber cafe learning about the computer operation, I knew strongly that my future will have something to do with the digital world. Growing up, one of my dream job then was to become a software engineer.

It might look so shocking for many of us reading this. As others that dream to become doctor, lawyer, engineer and many more. I personally was not a fan of all these popular dream job that every young kid will dream about. I have always been obsessed with the technology world and that drove me to have a quest to become a software engineer.

For many people reading this, your question of course might be why do I pick software engineer. The truth is actually there is no major reason I will say I can find. The only thing is the fact that I so much love the digital world generally the technology space and I believe so much that with software engineer, it will have definitely allow me to explore it much more.

But as life will have it. It was quite a pity that I didn't become my dream job at least as for now because nobody knows tomorrow. Presently I graduated from Kwara State University with a degree in Civil engineering instead of software engineering. The funniest thing was, growing up, I never love anything engineering.

But like I said, sometimes life gives to us whY we least expect and that is why life is unpredictable. Well I don't know what the future holds probably if I will still return back to pursue my once dream job of becoming a software engineer but I will say for now, I feel fulfilled to an extent studying civil engineer.

At first it was a challenge for me trying to adapt to the new career path of civil engineer but as time goes on, I begin to develop strong passion in that life and I must tell you that right now, I love everything that deals with civil engineering world. Like I said, nobody knows tomorrow. I might wake up tomorrow to still want to pursue my once dream job.
