What is NerdMiner?

NerdMiner, or NerdSoloMiner, is a free and open-source project created by BitMaker, which allows you to create your own miner for around 40 dollars.

The idea is to try to mine a Bitcoin block with low-end hardware that can be built at home and kept on an office desk. This allows ordinary people to have the opportunity to participate in mining without the need for significant investments or complex infrastructure.

Due to it being a game of hashes, the reduced hash rate offered by NerdMiner is comparable to buying a lottery ticket every ten minutes. In terms of capacity, NerdMiner operates with only ~1 Watt of power and achieves a hash rate of more than 77 Kh/s.

Simply connect to your WiFi and provide your Bitcoin Deposit address to start mining via Public-Pool : https://web.public-pool.io

BTC NerdMiners also known as Solo Lottery Miners. This miner only consumes around 1 watt of power and can run on mini solar panels, making it a zero-cost option.

I run my Nerdminer on the Jackery 240 with a 100 Watt Solar Panel

The latest mining software (firmware version 1.6.3) is pre-installed and all that's needed is to connect it to power via USB-C, as well as Wi-Fi and your Bitcoin address.

With a small chance, the miner can successfully mine a block and the current reward for finding the next block is 3.125 BTC (approximately $ 177,000 USD)

“Lottery mining” explained:

A lottery miner competes with other Bitcoin network participants to find a specific numerical value, called a hash, that meets certain criteria as set by the Bitcoin protocol. This hash is necessary to verify and process Bitcoin transactions. In order to participate in the mining process, a miner usually needs to invest in specialized and expensive computer hardware such as ASIC Miners, which are designed to guess the needed hash as quickly and efficiently as possible.

However, since many miners compete to find the same hash, it becomes like a lottery. The chances of winning the reward are proportional to the miner’s computational power or hash rate. The higher the hash rate, the more likely a miner is to find the block and win the reward. Especially with the small amount of hashrate this NerdMiner provides, it is like buying a lottery ticket. The more tickets you buy, the higher your chances of winning.
