After we had our fill of delicious food, we set off on the road to our hotel, not in any hurry, as time was on our side. The route wound along the coastline, with the sparkling sea accompanying us on one side. It wasn’t often we traveled this way, as the view from this side of the island was far from home, so we decided to make the most of it.

As we neared the Khao Khad viewpoint, the thought of pausing to take in the scenery was too tempting to resist. We parked the car and stepped out, greeted by the cool, salty breeze and the mesmerizing view of the vast ocean stretching out before us. The sunlight glinted off the water's surface, creating a dance of light and shadow that felt almost magical.

We stood there, quietly taking it all in, realizing how rare it was to enjoy this side of the island. The horizon seemed to stretch forever, and for a moment, everything felt perfectly still, as if time had slowed down just for us to savor the beauty of the moment. It was a peaceful break in the journey, one that filled us with calm before continuing on our way to the hotel, knowing this memory would stay with us for a long time.

The winding path along the hillside was stunning, offering glimpses of the sea through the trees as we made our way to Khao Khad Viewpoint. Located at Ao Makham near Cape Panwa, the viewpoint was a hidden gem, far from the bustling crowds. It was perfect for those who sought a peaceful retreat to quietly admire the beauty of nature.

When we arrived, we noticed how calm the atmosphere was—just what we needed. There weren’t many people, allowing us to enjoy the serenity of the moment. A spacious parking lot made it easy to leave the car and wander toward the viewpoint. The spot was thoughtfully designed, with four small pavilions spaced just right from one another, offering comfortable places for tourists to relax. We chose a pavilion with a clear view of the sea and settled in, feeling the gentle sea breeze as we watched the waves roll in from the horizon.

It was an ideal place to escape from the rush of daily life, where the quiet surroundings and the panoramic view of the ocean created a perfect setting for reflection and peace.

Khao Khad Viewpoint, situated on the west side, offered a breathtaking view as the sun began its slow descent. In the evening, the sunset from here was just as magnificent as the one at Phromthep Cape, casting vibrant hues across the sky and painting the sea with golden light. From this vantage point, we could see Chalong Bay stretching out in the distance, its waters glistening in the fading sunlight.

Off in the distance, perched atop Khao Nak Kerd, was the Big Buddha, watching over the island. It was a striking sight, but despite my efforts, my camera couldn’t capture the full extent of its beauty. Even when I zoomed in, the details were lost, unable to convey the majesty of the scene before us. Still, the moment was perfect, etched into memory in a way no camera could ever replicate.

The weather was perfect—no rain in sight, and the sky was a brilliant shade of blue that matched the vast, shimmering sea below. As I gazed out, I could see numerous sailboats and luxury yachts gliding gracefully across the water, their white sails adding an elegant touch to the already stunning view. They seemed like tiny, moving dots against the endless horizon, making the scene feel like a painting come to life.

There’s something about staring out at the vast, endless sea that fills me with a sense of wonder. It’s as if the world, in all its immensity, holds countless adventures waiting to be discovered. I always feel that pull, that urge to explore what lies beyond. The sea, with no visible end in sight, stirs that feeling within me.

I prefer visiting the ocean on days like this, when the sun is shining bright and the sky is clear. That’s when the sea reveals its most beautiful self—calm, sparkling, and full of life. It’s in these moments, under the warmth of the sun, that the sea becomes my favorite place, where I can lose myself in the beauty of the world around me.

We spent around 30 minutes simply soaking in the beauty that nature had so generously laid before us. The sea, the sky, the quiet serenity—it all felt like a gift, one we were lucky to witness. After taking in as much as we could, we decided it was time to move on. Our hotel wasn’t far, just about 3.2 kilometers away from Khao Khad Viewpoint, so we returned to the car and continued our journey.

As we drove, I couldn’t help but think that this had been the perfect way to unwind. The peaceful moments spent admiring the view had left us feeling refreshed, and the short drive to the hotel felt like the calm after a day well spent. It was the perfect time to relax, knowing we had savored the best of what the day had to offer.
