Back in 2001, Alicia Keys has finally debuted in the mainstream through her debut album "Songs in A Minor". Back then, I don't really understand what the title really mean. I even used to read the last two words "ah minor", until I heard from the VJ that it's simply "A" as a letter and a key in music. 😂
Then I realized "A" probably stands to Alicia. At least, my guess.
Anyway, that album made Alicia Keys a superstar, and the top new solo artist of 2001. In fact, her debut single "Fallin'" also became a global hit.

"Fallin'" is a neo soul R&B ballad, and it showcased Alicia Keys' talent that's why she's a thing back in her debut year. The song went to number 1 in Billboard Hot 100, as well as in US Mainstream chart. It eventually gone 3x platinum in the country. It was a number 3 hit in UK Singles Chart and European Hot 100 Singles. That goes to show she did very well right at her debut.
"A Woman's Worth", another soul R&B ballad, was released as the second single. The music video was notable as the continuation for "Fallin'". The single may not have been as successful as its predecessor but it reached number 7 in Billboard Hot 100. However in UK, it managed to peak lower at number 18.
