Shutting down every blockchain worldwide

in blurt-101010 •  18 days ago

I was meditating this morning and had this weird idea..

Most of our computers are automatically time-corrected. I guess they sync with the NIST "atomic" clocks like the one in Boulder, Colorado etc. A wireless signal is sent out as well, which some self-calibrating digital watches and wall clocks can sync with.

Cesium Atomic Clocks

By the way, hello, Ken here, this is my first personal post on Blurt. You guys might already know me from Hive. I'm done posting over there, tired of toxicity. Anyway...

For your crypto wallet to work right, the internal clock on your device needs to be in sync with the network time.

WHAT IF...

What if governments mess with the network time for awhile. They change the GMT and/or UTC timecode up or down by a few minutes. Then every few minutes they change it again to some other random timecode off by a couple minutes.

Doing that would essentially make it impossible for anyone to transact on a blockchain until they quit messing with the timecode. Of course governments would use that event to blame aliens, a "virus", a hacker or some other boogeyman, and then make unapproved encryption illegal and offer up their CBDC or something as a solution.

Is it possible to end a blockchains' reliance on their network time?

Welcome

Looks like you have decided to take the other pill (reference of Matrix)

Welcome to Blurt

yeah, matrix isn't perfect, especially their key and session handling, but at least it's more decentralised than discord, twitter, etc. thanx! :)

Well, I was actually referring to "Matric Movie - Choose A Pill"

but my previous comment's attachment didn't show up properly, leading to confusion.

This post was about moving to Blurt (choosing orange pill over pink pill 🤣)

They (the psychopaths in control by virtue of money) might do such a thing, indeed. Not sure what We might do to avert that. Except take Their tool to power away... (What My work on Our planet is aiming for...)

Antisocialist just had this idea on matrix which I find very intriguing, he said " Couldn't the block producers also produce their own time?"

That sounds like a good idea! Of course transacting outside of that chain might still be difficult, but that's the sort of out of the box thinking I love :)

Truthfully... That goes well beyond My ability to grasp in terms of how it all works. LOL! I'm just out to simplify life on Our planet by removing the archaic tool that leads to ever more complication.

I was in banking 15 years, and grasped all things money back then, but ever since crypto... My head just spins, and same with "blockchain." Never did grasp that. Haha!

We foundational economists are pretty simple and simplified...

You have made a simple, but very powerful point there! Sadly, I too see the government as the greatest threat. They are capable of anything, when it coomes to taking back the power they have lost due to blockchain. Really sad actually, if you consider that a government should be there to protect its people and help them thrive and grow...

There has to be a way to end the reliance on a network time.
I've been trying to point this and the fact of no electricity = no crypto to the crypto bros and other maxis for a couple of years.
They think that crypto will break the governments but it wont. Crypto is very easy to demolish when they control the natural resources.
No power, no time sync, no internet = dead/nothing/shit.
Gold, silver, diamonds, rubys, even bread and grain will be the future of currency soon. Tangible real world goods and services. Just like it has been for thousands of years.

i like where you're going with this

So far, I've been consistantly satisfied with opperations on blockchains...

Moreso than a lot of things i used to rely on 🥓
