Here we go again with a BeBlurt update 🎉

I'm pleased to present BeBlurt version 1.4.1, packed with exciting updates and improvements. This version brings back the keyword search functionality, introduces the extension of short links with affiliation for social media sharing, enhances SEO capabilities, improves the account dashboard, and includes various bug fixes. Read on to explore the details of these enhancements.

Restoration of Keyword Search

the keyword search function in the BeBlurt header has been reactivated. Now, when neither the "@" nor "#" symbols are used, the search will return a result page listing relevant posts based on the account name, title, description, and tags.

Just to remind you, you can search for a person by adding an "@" in front of his or her account name to activate autocompletion (from 3 characters).

And the same goes for tags, adding a "#" in front of the tag to activate autocompletion (from 3 characters).

Significant effort is still required to develop a high-performance search engine, as it necessitates the implementation of a highly efficient post analysis algorithm capable of processing the extensive volume of posts and comments on the Blurt blockchain.

Short Links for Social Media with Affiliation

The short link generator has been upgraded to include more sections of BeBlurt, such as communities and user accounts.

Accessible via the share button on various pages.

On mobile, this is the 3 dots button.

The short link window now supports additional social media platforms, including Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.

As a reminder, BeBlurt is a Progressive Web Application (PWA) that works on both smartphones and computers. It is not easy for social media platforms to retrieve preview information (title, description, preview image) from BeBlurt due to the fact that the entire application runs on your device, including navigation between pages, which social networking bots can't do. That's why when you want to share a link to BeBlurt on your social media, you should always use these short links, which solve this problem.

Furthermore, each link is unique to your account and, once the onboarding process is in place on BeBlurt (we will address this topic in a future post), will allow you to become a referrer. This means your account will be added as a beneficiary for a defined period of time, receiving a certain percentage of post curation earnings from your affiliates.

SEO Enhancements

To maximize BeBlurt's visibility to external audiences, significant improvements have been made to the SEO service. These optimizations aim to enhance the indexing and discoverability of BeBlurt content, enabling a wider reach.

Account Dashboard

The account dashboard has undergone enhancements to provide a more comprehensive view of your account statistics. The post count, curation earnings, power up/down, and Exchanges transfer graph now display data for 12 weeks in the weekly view and 6 months in the monthly view. This update allows for a more detailed analysis of your progress on the Blurt blockchain.

How to check your BeBlurt version

BeBlurt is a Progressive Web Application (PWA) running in your browser so to help you check that you are up to date in the bottom menu the version you are using is displayed.

The application updates automatically in the background but you may have to close and reopen the browser page (or the PWA application for those who have installed it on a smartphone, see this post)

A Ctrl + Shift + R to force a refresh will also work.
