Welcome to the BeBlurt World dear Blurt community! Today we will talk about version 0.6.0 of the BeBlurt application which has just been deployed only 9 days after the last update.

This new version brings many improvements and features, which will certainly enhance your user experience. As a reminder, BeBlurt is a next-generation frontend, it is a Progressive Web Application (PWA), working equally well on desktops (PC/Mac), laptops, tablets, and smartphones (android/IOS) for the Blurt blockchain, which allows you to manage your account and posts on this great decentralized social media platform.

This update includes several key features, including the implementation of the wallet and reward claiming, a form to update your profile, an improvement to the datepicker for scheduling your posts, and some minor bug fixes. In this post, we will take a closer look at these new features and how they can enhance your Blurt experience.

The User Wallet

Finally, the wallet is now available on BeBlurt! However, it is only the beginning as it currently only displays information about your wallet, such as the amount of BLURT, BLURT POWER, BLURT in SAVING, and the estimated value in US dollars. In addition, there is a "Claim Rewards" button that allows you to claim your pending rewards.

For those who are new to Blurt, it is important to understand the difference between BLURT and BLURT POWER. BLURT is the liquid cryptocurrency that can be traded on exchanges or used to purchase goods and services and to pay the fees of the blockchain, while BLURT POWER is a type of staked BLURT that gives you more influence on the Blurt platform.

In addition to giving you more influence on the Blurt platform, BLURT POWER also plays a crucial role in the governance of the Blurt blockchain. BLURT POWER holders can vote on proposals that can influence the direction of the platform by funding development/marketing projects. They can also vote on witnesses who may make changes to the code or rules of the blockchain, the funding of development projects, or the reward distribution system.

The amount of voting power that you have is directly proportional to the amount of BLURT POWER you hold. This means that those with more BLURT POWER have a greater say in the decision-making process. By staking your BLURT as BLURT POWER, you are not only increasing your influence on the platform but also actively participating in the governance of the Blurt blockchain.

Claim Rewards is a feature that allows you to claim the rewards you have earned by participating in the Blurt community. Rewards can come in the form of BLURT and BLURT POWER or only BLURT POWER, depending on how you have chosen to receive your rewards. The Claim Rewards button on BeBlurt makes it easy to claim your rewards, without the need to go through the official wallet. The Claim Rewards function works with your POSTING key.

In summary, the addition of the wallet and Claim Rewards feature to BeBlurt is a significant step forward in providing a more comprehensive and user-friendly experience for managing your Blurt account. And this is just the beginning!

Profile update

One important addition to BeBlurt is the ability to update your profile information including your avatar and cover photo directly from the app. This feature can be accessed by navigating to the "Settings" option in your account menu. For photos, you can use drag and drop in the specified areas or use the upload button (to the right of each field), both of which allow you to upload the photo to Blurt's image proxy server, lastly, you can specify a URL for the photos.

Having a complete profile with an avatar photo is essential for establishing your presence on the Blurt platform. It allows other users to quickly identify you and helps to build trust and credibility within the community. In addition, having a well-crafted profile with relevant information about yourself can attract new followers and engagement on your posts.

If you don't use Keychain, updating your profile information will require an elevated level of privilege (required by the blockchain itself), specifically your ACTIVE key. As usual in these situations, a modal window will appear asking you to enter your key. It is important to remember that the key will only be keep for the tab of your browser where you entered it for the duration of your session and will not be saved when you will close the tab or your browser.

Overall, taking the time to update your profile and avatar photo can greatly enhance your experience on the Blurt platform. It can help to establish your credibility, attract new followers, and improve engagement on your content. So why not take a few minutes to update your profile information and make sure you have a great avatar photo that represents you and your brand on Blurt?

Post publications scheduler

After some issues with the time management of the post scheduling feature, the form and datepicker have been revised. Now, the datepicker includes direct management of hours and minutes in addition to the day.

To help you keep track, the scheduled date and time are displayed dynamically in both your local time zone and GMT format.

To refresh your memory, once you schedule a post, you can check it by going to your account menu and selecting "Scheduled Posts".

This feature is incredibly useful because it allows you to schedule posts in advance, which can save you a lot of time and effort. For example, if you have a busy week ahead, but still want to maintain a regular posting schedule, you can use the scheduling feature to ensure your posts are published on time without having to worry about it. Similarly, if you're traveling and won't have access to the internet, you can schedule your posts in advance to maintain your online presence. With the ability to schedule posts, you can have peace of mind knowing that your content will be published when you want it to be, regardless of your availability.

How to check your BeBlurt version

Beblurt is a Progressive Web Application (PWA) running in your browser so to help you check that you are up to date in the bottom menu the version you are using is displayed.

The application updates automatically in the background but you may have to close and reopen the browser page (or the PWA application for those who have installed it on a smartphone, see this post)

A Ctrl + Shift + R to force a refresh will also work.
