Blogging has certainly not turned out to be the world changing activity I once hoped it would be. I started out on Blogger long ago, which despite being owned by Google was such a well designed platform that I still miss it many ways from when I stopped using it nearly a decade ago. It just worked really well. These days it's not very popular anymore, but I've given up caring and last month I set up a new Blogger account to replace my original blog - www.sift.co.nz - there's not much on it yet, but I plan to chuck copies of my www.frot.co.nz posts on there, just because I always liked the platform (even though I don't like Google)
At my most optimistic I hoped blogging could change society, and with the advent of Steemit, I also hoped I could earn reasonable money for writing blog posts. Well society has certainly changed in the past quarter of a century, since I got my first computer in 1998. But mostly not for the better. There were many things that were better in the 90's and very few that are better now. Apart from the speed of internet connections and stuff like the ease of transfering data, I struggle to come up with much stuff that is better now.
Blogging is one of those things like data transferal that has never been easier. However getting an audience of intelligent real humans in this day and age is not easy, even if posting information online has never been easier. I live in New Zealand, which is a beautiful country in the middle of being fucked over by some of the most evil and corrupt WEF gimps on the planet. There are likely to be more "hate speech" laws being brought in by these maggots, and people like me who want to share non-approved content will have to adapt.
Free platforms are as rare as hen's teeth, and it's not as easy to remain uncensored as I had hoped. Coming from a background of being black listed by both Google and Facebook, I stopped using their platforms and thought the future was in blockchains. Back in 2016 before I knew shit from chewed dates, Steemit at first seemed awesome. But I soon learned a thing or two. Steemit turned out to be just as oppressive as Facebook really, just in a different way. And Hive rapidly became far worse. But I did well out of both platforms financially, and still think of Hive as well designed platform, even though several whales have spelt it out in no uncertain terms that I'm not welcome there.
What I'm I going on about?
Which brings me to the point of this ramble - I need an effective system for blogging. As of July 2023 this is my four step plan for world domination:
Firstly I will do a blog post on my Wordpress.org blog - it has good formatting and a spellchecker, and it is self hosted so in theory can't be censored. But in practise the commie NZ Government can threaten my server space provider and they in turn are forced to appologetically ask me to remove offending content - so the writing is on the wall, I need overseas options that can't be censored like that. And that is why I'm so interested in an uncensored blockchain.
Secondly I will copy my post to my Blogger account and enjoy the irony of using Google's own platform to host the very content that Google is trying to block. But they may well notice me and crack down at some stage.
Thirdly I will also post a copy on the Blurt blockchain using the Blurtlatam front end. I hope this might be harder to censor, and also some extra content on Blurt might encourage a bit more platform development. With the way it's been for the past year there is not much incentive for anyone to really invest a lot of time working on it. All I'm really trying to do here is say I've been around the block and I think Blurt could work. Bastyon originally had a lot of promise as well, but as a blogging platform it is utterly useless, and while Hive using the Peakd front end is far more advanced than Blurt, it is failing due to deep corruption and some really unpleasant whales with massive egos. But I do think Megadrive really fucked Blurt up and I'm certainly not a fan of that guy. (He is Hive material)
And finally I will post a link to my post on Facebook - it may be a total waste of time but it's the biggest platform and has the largest active audience. What I also get from FB is an insight into the horribly programed little minds of the sheeple, which being a recluse who doesn't watch TV, I'm usually unaware of. But like assessing rot in the foundations (most NZ houses are built on wooden piles) it's probably something that needs to be watched.
If I get my shit together and knock out a post each day that would be pretty cool, but that may or may not happen. Safe to say I won't be doing this for fame or fortune, but more because it helps me to get my thoughts straightened out, and if it has any influence on the hive mind (I'm sure that name was no accident) that would be an added bonus. It feels like trying to bail out a sinking ship right now I know, but any bit of hope or positive vision could do us wonders.
Blogging ,. boring stuff .
I will make the comment that will destroy your laptop .
Do not open any of them holding a coffee ,
I will not take any responsibility for what could happen .
The fun is in the comments .
No one looks at your blogs , at least not many .
Better to go on tour in the comments and spread the good word myself .
Where people put up there narratives in public ,
I am free to question them ,. in a friendly way .
For true engagement we might come together a bit .
Where staying friendly is the hardest part , especially when you keep it real .
;-)
( yes i sometimes miserably fail to be friendly at times to , even when i try , for i ain't no saint ) ( i know , working on it )
That's OK, we can wind each other up a bit. I know, nobody is looking at my posts - gen z and ai are all pushing videos at the moment - but videos bore my pants off, so I'll stick to blogging and memes...
People in NZ have always loved the heat!
lollolol
Thats what they want you to believe.
It was Reg in fact.
He'd gotten fucked on too many fermented anchovies - He didn't get his ratio's right - at all.
Shit happens.
Fortunately an ice berg took the rap for the titanic sinking - he got away with that one, undetected...
I'm still having problems with Blurt Latam while regular Blurt is working fine - it's intermittent
😗
Blurt Latam working again!
