Hive is definitely a great idea as is Blurt and Steem. But so far the one that seems to be getting it right with fundamentals while still adhering to principles is Blurt. Those are to two things that will matter in the end.
Not Hive and their little make believe world of controlled economy through a couple of wealthy 3rd parties.

I didnt like them from the first time I heard of them. Lol.
I always found it funny that when I started bad mouthing them on discord or in a podcast/post, there was always someone who would try to get me to stop doing it.
I didnt care and will say what I think.
"If the truth kills them, they deserved to die." - I dont remember who said that. But it's the truth.
I don't like adding to the platform but if enough people had the balls and not just a few and just spammed the site and upvoted one another in a circle at some point they wouldn't be able to keep it up with everyone. They rely on trying to pick on a few ppl at the time and the others keeping their heads down so they can keep getting payouts. If they did too many at one time or enough people had stood up for others getting downvoted, they would have lost control. They rely on singling ppl off and hoping everyone else is too afraid to speak up as they value their upvotes too much. But it's really just good to focus on the other platforms now and make sure they don't obtain any power on them.

I witnessed the group behind all that rubbish in the early days when I was invited to private chat group (likely because I was one of the only girls at the time). They are just terrible ppl I don't think they ever wanted the platform to grow right from 2017 they would just laugh in private about downvoting newbies to zero and taking the piss out of them, then being all nice to them in the chat. The chat was owned by some woman called illuminaughty or something like this. I am sure it goes far deeper than that also.
They were the reason that it's not 10 times the size now. I genuinely think it has to be some kind of experiment on controlling people on social media as it's just clearly not designed to be a platform that actually grows in numbers as they chase everyone off who has any real world following. A bunch of famous ish bloggers joined at some point and they downvoted them all to 0. It's a joke of a site controlled by a handful of ppl who moved from Steemit.

The DV is one of the reasons some creators are going away from Hive. Already seen some posts about it.
I think a down vote can be a good thing. But it does not belong on the blockchain level and ddefinitely attached to a user stake.
It literally controls users. I will never understand why people cant understand that.
