I have a tiny amount of money, and got a USB power bank so my phone could be recharged between visits to power sockets I can charge up at.
The thing was, I barely even had it and after 2x charging it, I still hadn't even used it myself, but the guy who was letting me stay in his house without power, came into the room I was sleeping in, obviously didn't bother to wake me for explicit permission to take it, and some hours later, I wake up to discover it was gone.
I messaged him when I spotted he was connected to my phone's hotspot. Nothing. Went downstairs and retrieved it. Went out to go get some mental space from it, and charge it up, it was empty by the time I got it back.
After some thought, I decided that sleeping on isoprene mat on the floor with no lock on my door, that this kind of excessive presumption was going to be a fixture, one which is intolerable.
I have applied for jobs, lots are available here for Go programmers, and will keep trying for more. No idea what to do about interview, but I will show up in what I have and if they don't eject me - and I will do my best to wash, maybe I can get my combat pants a bit cleaner at the cestralna Banya - hot spring in the centre of town with lots of taps beside a former public bath the spring powered.
It won't be ideal but if my stuff is gonna be swiped before I even use it, without bothering to wake me, it's much the same on the street.
And no, the situation was the same before I quit working for Blurt. I begged for 2 months for help with the security deposit on a rental. After 3 months as close as I could be to homeless, I was fed up.
Nobody really believes I am capable of work that my old GitHub shows I am, until I demonstrate it and won't give me at least a little respect for either my sleep regime or my meagre property, even then.
I will just do the best I can. You can call me the hobo programmer now, if you want. In these times I wish I could isolate myself, but at least no 'friends' are going to take advantage of me. I have a nice orange crowbar for that.
