Recently, I wrote about a bobcat that visited my sister
She contacted the bobcat project. Now they have replied to her. The bobcat's name is Sadie. It turns out Sadie has visited numerous homes in the area and is raising kittens. Better still, this is her second litter. Can you imagine wildlife like this visiting your yard on a regular basis.
They sent my sister some recent tracking data on the bobcat. Check it out.
Also, this is a transcript of the message
That is Bobcat Sadie on your porch! She is currently raising kittens, and looked like she needed a moment to herself! I attached a map for you of Sadie's recent locations. I suspect she is keeping the kittens up on roofs for at least part of the time. She had her kittens in mid April so she has a ways to go. They usually do not travel with the kittens until about 4-5 months. They do move them around by carrying them in their mouths. We captured Sadie in January at a home south of .... She is an adult female who likely had kittens before and weighed almost 15 pounds which is typical for adult females. She is on the thin side now. She is nursing kittens and will soon begin bringing back food for them as well.
Clearly she thought your porch looked inviting! I hope you get to see her again. We love to see pictures of our radio collared females since we rarely see them once they are wearing a radio collar. I attached a couple of other pictures for you of BC Sadie. Would it be okay if we post the pictures you sent in on our website? If so, how would you like to be credited?
