When I say "mine" about a place or a city, by this I mean, of course, not an attempt at appropriation or any kind of communion at all, but only what is taken out of this place by memory and preserved in the soul. I don't know if Peterhof remembers me, but I found something there that I won't forget.
Someone may think otherwise, but for me this row of trees with spherical crowns is the main attraction of this place. You will not find such a landscape anywhere else, and it has existed here for more than three hundred years.
Since I do not like to visit places that have been turned into tourist sites, having lost their original meanings and aura, and suddenly getting there, I move away from tourist groups and loud guides, trying to imagine how it was in those days when people lived who owned all this and did not think about it here. where their houses, gardens and estates will one day be taken away from them, destroyed, looted, and then turned into profitable tourist establishments.
Perhaps this is the same rose bush that can be seen on the canvases of court artists. And this blue stone on the coast generally remembers everyone who touched it without even noticing.
You know this groove and the house it surrounds, the foundation of which I wanted to photograph. I can't say about this house that it belonged to someone, it became someone else's. It did not lose its owner because it was not sold or donated to someone. He was taken away, and therefore he was left without a master. A thief never becomes the owner of what is stolen.
Of course, my story about this place will be incomplete, and without mentioning this part of the Baltic Bay, it will be completely uninteresting. People come here to admire the gilded fountains and royal palaces, but I'm not interested in all this. I don't take pictures of it at all. I walk past all the decorations to the natural, which attracts my attention. Why draw water into fountains when there is water in rivers and in the sea?
