POETRY: Lost Battle

I arrived home very late
thirsty for a shot of tequila
trying to forget the call
that took away my peace of mind.
You were always my great desire
and the battle that hurt me to lose,
my worst fall straight to the underground
and from which I could never learn.
How could everything have changed?
If only I had been braver,
Now I only have this photo left
and you kissing him in my mind.
At home they taught me to fight
and especially if you are in love,
but by not learning to listen,
I lost like a clueless soldier.
For now I just wish you luck
and may you become very loved,
because I wouldn't tolerate seeing you again
without your smile and very bitter.
