TLDR; DesiVPS assigned a IP so that I can quickly migrate (by SSH, SCP) the instance to a new Server (I chose Linode this time). The Steem Bots are back to normal running.
Previously: Chat Bots are Currently Down due to DesiVPS Migrating to New Data Servers
Then, I asked the DesiVPS support, and they are very helpful - below is the script.
Q: Hello, I cannot ssh to my VPS, please could you advice when it will be resumed normal? thanks
A: Hello You need to wait for 7 more days. We are in a major trouble now. bcz we colo with another companyand new hardware will take 7 to 8 days. we have already sent you a email to backup you data
Q: Hello, ok, is the data safe?
yes, I know. So, in 7 days when you get hardware, do I have to set up everything on the VPS? or I can just use it straight away
A: We will try to get the data but if its not available you need to setup
Q: so, what i will get in 7 days is a fresh VPS?
A: Yeah
Q: So what happens to previous data in harddrive, If I get a fresh one in 7 days, will those existing data be destroyed? I have concerns of the data leaks. also, can I backup my data now, I don't see how to if I can't SSHoh, it seems that I can still VNC.
A: Yeah
Q: but it seems that it is not connected to internet. how can i download data from it
A: Yeah. Allow us 2 hours will get different ip assigned
Q: ok, I am fine with different IPs, so does it mean that the server is just fine using other IP, does it have to migrate to other data centers?
A: Yeah
Q: ok, so please could you tell me what is going to happen? since the server can still be connected to VNC, and I can probably SSH later using other IP, what is next? will the server be stopped and move to other data center?I am a bit confused.
A: server will be stopped by tuesday and. I will get it moved to new DC by monday. I'll let u sknow your IP.
Q: thanks. let me do a final backup just in case.
A: We will change it new one. you can use it till tuesday.
Q: ok thanks. the VPS is vmXXXXXX please do let me know when you change to a new IPs
A: The IP is XXX.XXX
Q: Do i have to reboot?
