Radiation Monitor: Airplane Takeoff First 20 Minutes (NR-950 Pudibei)

in blog •  4 months ago

On the flight from Fuzhou, China to Beijing, China on April 9, 2024, I conducted a background radiation test using the NR-950 Radiation Monitor (Pudibei) during the first 20 minutes after takeoff. The radiation levels were measured and displayed in real-time, showing an increase as the airplane reached cruising altitude (in the last few minutes of the video). At ground level, the radiation is about 0.15 µSv/h, while at cruising altitude, it is approximately ten times higher, around 1.5 µSv/h.
