The Pain of holding on to the past.

Pain

The crickets on his ft sleep
its weight of worry incorporates anguish
of chains that need to drag
bleeding his stroll thru the area
that left the rain.

Under the desolate wet weather
walks dragging his fears
quick chains tied to the shackle
that hurts with ache
and permit the ache bleed
who has to pay in debt
with the weight of guilt
that he incorporates on his back.

Only he and his rolling shadow go
dragging the heavy plumb line
in a global of iron that doesn't cease
withinside the coldness of him sinking into the gray
and the calloused fingers maintain the chain
tied to the punishment bolo
that among his fingers slips thru the pond
and the rain that doesn't stop.

What guilt does he pay and in what time
that disorder from the beyond is registered
as though it have been today?
