Every day, 200K Points are shared among the top 10 posts that make it to the Consensus list. The list is determined based on the post engagements (Likes, Comments, and Saves).
In today's article, I will write about the strategy I use to Pick posts. "Pick" is a form of content curation. You stake Points on a post and if the post makes it to the top 10 consensus list you receive a reward. If the post doesn't make it, your Points are returned after 3 days of publishing the article.
Another way to earn extra points on ReadON is to pick posts. Not all posts are available to pick. When you see the "On Pick" button on a post thumbnail or at the top of a post, that means the post is available to pick.
You can navigate to the "PICK" section/menu at the top of the ReadON home screen after the "For You" tab/button.
On the "PICK" panel, you will see many ongoing PICKs. You can filter it by the post age. Remember, PICKs expire after 3 days of publishing the post.
You can view the past results under the "Pick Ongoing" section along with the amount earned by the Pickers. This provides insights into the types of posts that make it to the Consensus list.
Your reward is determined based on the number of Points staked and the time at which you stake them. The image above shows the boost factor based on the time you vote on a post. It's important to note that the boost factor for example 5x does not guarantee that your reward will be 5x your staked Points. Your reward is influenced by competition among other users who also stake their Points but staking early gives you an edge compared to those who stake late.
TIPS
Now that you understand how to find posts to Pick and how Pick works, it's time for me to show you how I Pick posts. Please note, that this does not guarantee the post will make it to the top 10 consensus lists.
Check the author's profile to see how their previous posts perform. Look at the article if it's what people will like, and check for the presentation. Although this does not apply to some authors.
This is the tip I frequently use right now. If the post was posted for a few hours, let's say for example 10 hours ago check the number of likes and comments. If the number of likes exceeds 400, I will definitely bet my Points on such a post. Then I will also Like, Save it to my collection, and occasionally comment on it. This will contribute to the engagement scores of the post. After that, I will wait for the results. The numbers may change as more people join the ReadON ecosystem or participate in PICK. So watch out for it, the more you use the Pick the better you will become at it and develop your technique.
To save a post, tap on the three dots after the language button, and a pop-out will appear, tap on "Save to collection".
How to Pick ⛏️
Open the article you want to Pick and tap on the Pick icon.
A pop-up will appear showing the Boost factor and textbox allowing you to input the amount you want to stake from your balance.
Tap on the "Pick Now" button. A pop-up will appear for you to select the network you want to use to Curate. You can choose the Loki Testnet if you have claimed the Read testnet token. For other networks like BSC, Arbitrum, or zkSync you need to deposit into your wallet in order to use any of the three networks.
Tap the confirm button, it will take you to a new page to confirm the transaction.
Tap on the Confirm button once again and you've successfully Picked a post.
There are over 400K registered accounts on ReadON. However, there are approximately 2000 accounts curating posts daily. The moderator has mentioned that active users will be rewarded in the future after the final release. This means that by curating posts you can become one of the active users.
