In today's blog we will talk about blockchain gaming. The reason why I am talking about it today is because of the fact that one of the top gaming players known, Ubisoft is joining hands with Immutable, the famous gaming company that came with the layer 2 blockchain solution for Ethereum blockchain.
Do not worry we will first talk a little about both of them and then discuss what they are really going to do together, and I will also be sharing if their collaboration will be useful for the blockchain gaming industry or not. So let us start by learning something about Ubisoft.
About Ubisoft
Ubisoft was found 27 years ago as a video game publisher company and today it is one of the largest and well-known publishers as well as game developer company. It has ruled the gaming industry with some fantastic games that are evergreen and that will be remembered for lifetime.
Prince of Persia, Assassin Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs are some of the games that are internationally known and that have made their names in the heart of the people from different decades.
So, in short just remember that Ubisoft is currently one of the largest game developers as well as publishers and be it graphics or story they have worked really well for the gaming industry.
Immutable X
When it comes to immutable, the firm is well known for blockchain gaming revolution, or you can say web3 gaming as this is the company that came up with a layer 2 blockchain solution for the Ethereum blockchain.
Now what does a layer 2 blockchain solution means?
Ethereum blockchain has countless number of games build on it and as Ethereum blockchain is famous for high gas fees for different transactions that takes place on the blockchain.
It is really difficult to attract gamers towards the blockchain games built on Ethereum, especially as now there are so many competitors in the market building games for web3 with quite less fees for the transactions on their blockchain compared to that of Ethereum. (Example: Games on Polygon Network)
Immutable X has really made it easy as there are no gas fees on the layer 2 blockchain solution and hence players can mint, transfer, or even trade their NFT's at zero gas fees.
Hence with Immutable X coming into the picture it has made a lot more affordable for the gamers to join or continue playing the games build on Ethereum blockchain without worrying about the gas fees.
Ubisoft collabs with Immutable
Now the readers are well aware about both these companies and their work as i have just shared that above. Let us now discuss what they are planning to do together for the blockchain gaming industry.
They are not disclosing anything right now but with some research i got to know that they are about to do something that is not done yet in the field of blockchain gaming. They have promised to bring a fluid gaming experience and with that they will unlock new possibilities in web3.
They also said that they will offer digital ownership to the players via this collaboration. So can it be that there will be a better digital asset world game that is about to come where players will be able to own their lands. It is still a question, and we will have to wait for an official statement from both these companies to know what they are exactly doing together.
Ubisoft has also hinted towards a full-fledged game and if that is true then this game will be remembered forever. What we see today are games featuring NFT's and some basic activities related to those NFT's.
We miss the games that are actually call games like I mentioned in my blog above. A fluid RPG game or a open world game like Grand Theft Auto or Watch Dogs. Just imagine how will things change if that happens, it will attract everyone into the world of Web3. Who will not want to play their Favorite games and earn crypto side by side.
Conclusion
To conclude, I would like to say that both Immutable as well as Ubisoft are well known for their work and if they are collaborating / joining hands then there is something big around the corner for sure.
I am excited for sure even though, there is no official announcement of what they are going to come up with. The work they have done in the past are enough to expect the unexpected coming from their side.
