The day is about to end, and now I am checking that today is the anniversary of the death of this post-impressionist #painter. He died in Auvers-sur-Oise, in #France, but the story of his death should begin two days before that fatal July 29, 1890, because it is when Vincent shoots himself with a firearm.
It is something to point out that depression and madness is not a very separate trait of great figures of art, sometimes it seems that these tortured souls are the ones that develop that particular sensitivity to perceive the world in ways that the rest of us fail to see in the beginning.
It is said that when he was questioned by the police, upon entering a hospital wounded by his own hand, he refused to declare anything, claiming that he was free to do what he wanted with his own body. In truth, it is a claim of extreme freedom, but I see that he left aside that even though he was that free, his actions were affecting the lives and activities of other people, so exercising freedom without respect for the freedom of others is not something that particularly convinces me.

Murió en Auvers-sur-Oise, en #Francia, pero el relato de su muerte debería comenzar dos días antes de ese fatal 29 de julio de 1890, pues es cuado Vincent se dispara a sí mismo con un arma de fuego.
Es algo de señalar que la depresión y la locura no es un rasgo muy separado de grandes figuras del arte, en ocasiones pareciera que estas almas torturadas son las que desarrollan esa particular sensibilidad para percibir el mundo de maneras que el resto de nosotros no logramos ver en un principio.
Se dice que cuando fue interrogado por la policía, al ingresar a un hospital herido por su propia mano, se negó a declarar nada, reclamando que era libre de hacer lo que quisiera con su propio cuerpo. En verdad que es un reclamo de una libertad extrema, pero veo que él dejaba de lado que si bien era así de libre, sus acciones estaban afectando la vida y las actividades de otras personas, así que eso de ejercer la libertad sin respeto de la libertad ajena no es algo que me convenza en lo particular.
