We are an agricultural family. Besides rearing cows, goats, ducks, chickens, we have many crops in our fields. This gourd and potal is one of them. We have many vegetables besides growing seasonal crops. If you grow vegetables, you can easily get your daily expenses from vegetables. There is a market near our house, called Kuchiamora Paner Market, where my father-in-law takes gourds and pots every Friday and Monday. There he retails gourds, pots. Sometimes the sheep are brought to the wholesale market. Every evening he picked up the gourd and brought it to Golapnagar market. As a result, the money required for cultivation comes from these vegetables and if seasonal crops such as paddy, wheat, lentils, husk, maize etc. are cultivated, they are counted in the annual income account.
আমরা একটি কৃষিভিত্তিক পরিবার। গরু, ছাগল, হাঁস, মুরগী লালন- পালনের পাশাপাশি আমাদের মাঠে অনেক ফসল রয়েছে। তারই মধ্যে এই লাউ এবং পটল অন্যতম। আমাদের মৌসুমি ফসল চাষের পাশাপাশি অনেক সবজি রয়েছে। সবজি চাষ করলে দৈনন্দিন খরচটা সবজি থেকে খুব সহজেই উঠে আসে। আমাদের বাড়ির কাছে একটি হাট বসে, যেটার নাম কুচিয়ামোড়া পানের হাট, সেখানে আমার শ্বশুর প্রতি শুক্রবার ও সোমবার লাউ এবং পটল নিয়ে যায়। সেখানে তিনি লাউ, পটল খুচরা বিক্রি করেন। মাঝে মাঝে ভেড়ামারা পাইকারি বাজারেও দিয়ে আসেন। আবার রোজ সন্ধায় লাউ তুলে গোলাপনগর বাজারে দিয়ে আসেন। ফলে চাষাবাদ করার জন্যে যে অর্থের প্রয়োজন হয় তা এসব সবজি থেকেই চলে আসে এবং মৌসুমি ফসল যেমন ধান, গম, মসুর, ছুলা, ভুট্টা ইত্যাদি চাষাবাদ করলে এগুলো বাৎসরিক আয়ের খাতায় হিসেব হয়।
Our total arable land is five bighas. Half of which is growing vegetables and the other half is growing seasonal crops. Currently one bigha of potal, one bigha of gourd and half bigha of cauliflower is being cultivated in two and a half bigha of vegetable cultivation land. And out of two and a half bigha land, one and a half bigha land has paddy and one bigha land has maize. It can be seen that we don't have to buy any food for cows and goats. Grass, vines, leaves, weeds become food for our cows and goats. So we don't have to worry about cow and goat food.
আমাদের মোট আবাদি জমি রয়েছে পাঁচ বিঘা। যার অর্ধেকটা সবজি এবং বাকি অর্ধেকটা মৌসুমি ফসল চাষ হচ্ছে। আড়াই বিঘা সবজি চাষের জমিতে বর্তমানে এক বিঘা পটল এক বিঘা লাউ এবং অর্ধ বিঘা ফুলকপি চাষ হচ্ছে। আর আড়াই বিঘা জমির মধ্যে দেড় বিঘা জমিতে ধান এবং এক বিঘা জমিতে ভুট্টা রয়েছে। দেখা যায় যে গরু, ছাগলের জন্যে আমাদের কোনো খাবারই কিনতে হয়না। ঘাস, লতা, পাতা, আগাছা দিয়েই আমাদের গরু ছাগলের খাবার হয়ে যায়। তাই গরু, ছাগলের খাবার নিয়ে আমাদের চিন্তা করতে হয়না।
And those who cultivate in the field must keep cows and goats at home. Then you will rear goats, cows with less trouble and both your annual income and capital will increase.
আর যে বা যারা আপনারা মাঠে চাষাবাদ করেন তারা অবশ্যই বাড়িতে গরু, ছাগল পালন করবেন। তাহলে আপনার কম কষ্টতেই ছাগল, গরু লালন-পালন করা হয়ে যাবে এবং আপনার বাৎসরিক আয় ও মূলধন দুটোই বৃদ্ধি পাবে।
