Beer Talk - An cheap and easy Imperial Stout

Lidl has somehow become synonym for cheap food and affordable products. Prices are usually affordable and the quality ranges from completely unusable to acceptable quality. What would we in Serbia can say: The more money you have, the more music you will listen to.

I recently found an Imperial Stout craft called Steam Brew on the shelves of this supermarket. The name is, of course, borrowed from the beer history of the west coast of America. With the slogan Let's Oil the Gears of Life, and the steampunk illustration, I couldn't resist buying a couple of them to try.

Impressions - very mild and drinkable stout with quite acceptable and constant aroma of caramel and malt. Durable color and not very good resistance to oxidation during moderately long consumption. For cheap industrial beer, surprisingly balanced. With 7.5% alcohol, it is on the verge of alcohol being felt and overcooked malt prevails.

For a large supermarket chain, this very affordable industrial beer is of quite acceptable quality. Due to the high alcohol content with a relatively mild taste, it leaves a bit of aftereffect, but with some nuts it makes a great company to watch a movie. A recommendation for everyday beer without pretensions to enrich a quality meal or be the central theme of the evening.

Cheers!
