Unshackled minds - Back :-)

Well I managed to fix one PC and get my keys back.

I have spent the entire day changing BIOS settings in my wife's laptop to get it to boot in Ubuntu again.
Finally I got it to work again with Ubuntu and or windows 10.
I had forgotten how to use windows 10, it has been so long.
I now have keys to this account all over the place, not taking that risk again. Got them on SD cards, HDD's and separate pc's.

So that leaves me with one PC to fix, the HP Omen. That is not going to be quite so easy though, got to totally strip it and check every part, but going to do what HP should have done and waterproof the keypad.

Anyone watching Canada last night?

I never thought I would see peaceful protesters treated so badly in any country. I have watched many hour upon hour of them dancing, playing music, having parties, not once seen any violence.
Seen people coming together no matter the race or beliefs (religion) but the big problem with Canada was it was shaping the world, so many had taken inspiration from brave Canadians, but no matter what happens, we salute you Canada, you inspired many other people, and nobody can take that away from you. They can take great pride in saying they had the most peaceful protest ever.

Have a superb day, off to try and fix my own stupid mistake with 1 beer and a PC. Happy to have this account back all the same.

Back up your keys good people.

Well.. it’s fine to protest a few days, maybe even a few weeks, but when you are blocking all roads of a Major city so that Emergency vehicles cannot pass, they need to move on. They should have just gone home after 1 week. Most of The mandates are already being lifted by the provinces. Ottawa does not have Central power in Canada. We are already decentralized.

I agree in part, but I also think people have the god given right to assemble.
From the videos I have seen, hundreds of hours, there were always roads open even though some lanes were blocked, they made a point of leaving lanes open for emergency vehicles and people.
You should take some pride in them people, they were not turning cars over and burning buildings, unlike protests in other countries.

Yes… I am very proud that we Canadians protest peacefully. Without guns. (Some people had guns) … But please protest on the grass (I mean snow) I Love protests and have attended many here in Ottawa, on the front lawn of the Parliament. It is a huge area that can accommodate thousands of people. There is no need to block the roads with hundreds of Big Rigs.

This protest turned into an anti-Government and anti-Socialist movement. Now many of those people will have all Government and Social programs taken from them. No health care, no welfare, no education, no pensions. They will be taken away.

Some of these people are very sick, now they will need to fly to America or Cuba for health care. I feel bad for the kids. They have no jobs and all Government Safety nets and Socialist benefits will be taken away.

So... what you're saying is that protests are fine so long as they are pointless, but that govscum has the right to punish you if your protest is genuine - and genuinely against the govscum in place.

Might as well have a protest module in a video game.

The longer this goes on the more they are revealing how brutal the tyrants are. People need a wake up call and my heart is with the protestors. Let them prove as they are now why we should all fear digital cash as they seize folks bank accounts and trample (with a horse) handicapped grandmothers who need the aid of a walker to move. Eventually some of the NPC might wake up to who the real terrorists are, and it sure as hell wasn't grandma.

Canadians hate Socialism and Socialist programs but they are the 1st to run to the Doctor for Free Healthcare every time they have a cough. They hate Social Programs but sure love their Government pension plans. They hate Socialist Programs but are there every week to collect their Welfare and Unemployment Benefits and CERB checks. They hate Socialism and Socialist programs but complain about the idea of paid Education. It’s kind of funny really. They want their cake and eat it too. They go to these protests and bite the hand that feeds them. If they are True Anti socialists they need to give up all these Government social programs. Stop paying taxes and go live off the land.

Fair point, but that just means those people haven't thought through every repercussion. Seems like they also buy into the "civil protest" idea as a mere expression of opinion instead of being genuine leverage - and genuine outrage.

and this being a genuine war

No… we have had huge protests here in Ottawa without blocking roads. No protests are pointless. The protests will go on. Also, the mandates are already ending. There is no Central Government in Canada. Unless it’s Canadian pensions, health care and other Government run Socialist programs that everyone loves.

Taking things away people contributed money to is always going to lead to more problems. Possibly violence.
I can understand the big rig drivers frustrations, being mandated to take part in a medical experiment is unheard of, I know you chose to do so, but you have to live with the consequences of your own actions. Government overreach is just that, telling people to self isolate while healthy was never going to end well, I think this protest was the first of "many" worldwide, and for the same reasons. My body, my choice, it worked for everyone else, why not me?
We are not all willing to be a mRNA lab-rat. On this we can agree to disagree.

It looks like I didn’t need these vaccines (I got 1 and 2 and refused the Booster) but I would have lost my job if I didn’t. I decided I wanted to travel to see my elderly parents. If I die from these Vaccines I really don’t care. But we need for life to return to normal. All the mandates should be dropped. And they are.

Nobody need a vaccine that is not a vaccine, I just hope the damage is not severe, I do know people it killed, some it maimed, I also know people who committed suicide due to all this nonsense.
I can understand your motives, my brother in law did the same, for similar reasons, he respects me not doing the same, and this is where we all need to be, respecting each others choices, with no malice or harm intended, it is what it is, and people made choices based on their own circumstances. I get that and appreciate we are all different.

It’s time to end all these mandates and just treat whatever this is like the flu. If we die from the flu, or cancer, or heart attack it just a part of life. We all die. There is no escape.

We were born to die, it is the only certainty in life.

You know the biggest dilemma with this statement is the "fact" that is this is normalised "This protest turned into an anti-Government and anti-Socialist movement. Now many of those people will have all Government and Social programs taken from them. No health care, no welfare, no education, no pensions. They will be taken away.

Some of these people are very sick, now they will need to fly to America or Cuba for health care. I feel bad for the kids. They have no jobs and all Government Safety nets and Socialist benefits will be taken away." Then the next opposition government that comes along can do the same, but maybe next time it is to you.
"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."
Be careful what you wish for, it may come back to bite your arse.
