Space and Earth: 'Molten Ring' Galaxy

in astronomy •  3 years ago

This image is taken by Hubble Telescope, and while it is just a nice space knitting for the rest of us it allowed the astronomers to come to some interesting conclusions.
An image shows a single galaxy that has been distorted by warped space. Astronomers used it to measure distances and come up with the time frame of the galaxy age.
Hubble took a snap of something called the Einstein ring, and these are allegedly the biggest ever recorded and also the biggest almost complete seen.
Einstein ring is a bull-eye pattern of the gravitational lensing ( object warping space and deflecting light).
