Astronomy: Megaconstelation and telescopes

in astronomy •  3 years ago

An astronomical image marred by trails caused by satellites of SpaceX's Starlink megaconstellation.

What about the mega constellation of miniature satellites polluting the orbit and obstructing the view to the numerous astronomers across the world?
It would be easier if the view is not obstructed, and it would be also much easier if we could have cleaner atmosphere, for example don't drive the gasoline powered cars, or don't fly planes , or don't explode rockets all over the damn natural reservoir...
Or something like that.
In my opinion the entire constellation is useless, so maybe repurposing the whole idea might have a better impact. For example, part of the constellation could loan out telescopes of the variable functionality to ordinary people.
It would require additional equipment loaded up on these satellites, but who cares anyway. If it is a ball, make it on water.
