Assumptions of quantum free electron theory :

• The energy values of free electron are quantized.

• The energy values are arranged in terms of set of energy level.

• The distribution of electron in the energy levels are as per Pauli's Exclusive Principle.

• The free electron movie in a uniform potential field due to the ions fix in the lattice.

• The attraction between the free electrons and lattice ion and the repulsion between the electrons are neglected.
