Today I want to introduce you to a work of art that is woven by rural women.

This artwork is a kind of curtain.

Nomad women weave these curtains and use them in their tents.

The houses of Iranian nomads are dome-shaped and they are often made of goat skin so that water does not penetrate inside their houses when it rains.

In the houses of nomads, you can see handicrafts woven by their women.

This curtain that you see in the photo is one of the beautiful works of Iranian nomads.

They use this curtain for the entrance of houses or in front of windows.

As it is clear in the photo, the middle part of this curtain is woven shorter to make it easier to move around.

This curtain is woven from sheep's wool. Dyeing of wool is also done by nomads or villagers themselves. In the old days, they often used natural materials and plants for dyeing, but now chemical dyes have replaced natural dyes such as walnut skin.

Rural and nomadic women also spend time for art in addition to the exhausting work they do.

Inside their houses are full of artistic and beautiful works of hardworking women.
