Customizing my own Sketchbook!

I am bored of the black cover of my Talens Sketchbook! For this project I am using :
My sketchbook (Duhhh)
A HB pencil for some sketching.
My Posca markers in bright happy snek colors!

Why costumize?

Well, to be honest, I was bored of the black and because I have been using my sketchbook as a board.....Yess, I used it to draw on, to paint on...And that also messed up the black. Smutches of paint everywhere and not in a nice way! Anywhooo, I looked at it and thought....Let's make you pretty again! The wonderful thing of Posca markers is that you can use them on any surface you want! Okay, let's refrase that part just a little.....Just not on paper! You can use them on paper but they SUCK on paper! Go figure, markers who suck on paper. They scratch and ruin your paper for EVAHHH.. Anyways, you can draw/paint on any surface you want, just not paper!





What the heck was I thinking when I placed my paper on top of my sketchbook and draw/paint? I must have been in weirdo space again! Made me sad that I did that! ON THE OTHER HAND ((Rubs hands together)) It did inspire me to customize it! Would I have done this project without the dirt on the cover? Yeah, I would have done it anyway! Oh well. But as you can see on the picture above, I did ruin it! Now it's time to fix it!





I used a normal HB pencil to draw the sketch on the book. This was easier than I thought! I was worried I could not see the lines but they showed perfectly! Step one was done and that meant time to shake!
Yes people, before you can use your Posca pens you have to do the shaky shaky! Shake them hard, shake them up and down, shake through the room, shake till your arms wanna kill you! Then, when you say "Yepp, I am ready" shake them some more! You need to mix the paint in the pens! These markers are paint pens! Which makes me wonder if I am drawing or painting with them. Am I drainting?





Because I did not prime the cover (I suck) I noticed right away that one layer was not gonna do it! Damn me for not taking 6 steps to find my gesso! Would I have done the white primer, I would have not needed two layers of my Posca paint! Lesson for next week! <---- Sure, like that will happen! I will never learn! BTW, you can buy all kind of colors when it comes to Gesso. They have a wide range these days!





WOW, my cute little friends look really weird without their eyes done! ((Blinks)) Zombie nationnnn. I really need to stop watching The walking dead before I go to bed! I should also stop being awake when I go to bed but I keep failing there as well! Oh the pain.....
Last night I wanted to sleep at my 01:00 am but I ended up going to bed after my 4 am! Why? Because I messed up my card order! I had to fix things and while doing that I landed on Wish.com ((Blinks)) and scrolled and scrolled....





Done the eyes with a white gel pen! I wonder if that will stick! ((Coughs)) and I sharpeded the outlines and normal lines with a black marker! I am happy with what I have now but I am NOT done! I am going to let this all dry and add mister mouse and bunny tomorrow! They belong there just like bird 1 and 2 and weirdo cat! So, stay tuned to see part 2 of my sketchbook make over!
