Rangoli designs made for the festival

For the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, there were loads of preparations to be done and amongst all making Rangoli at my door step was also one of the activity. Rangoli is art work which is made on the floor with different types of colors that can be in powder form or flowers also. I like to make it with glitter as it looks very attractive with the glitter. I am fond of making Rangolis on any auspicious occasions at my main door entrance. It represents happiness and prosperity for the home. The colors of the Rangoli brings in colors in life of the home as well.

I used stencils to make all of these Rangolis, else it's difficult for me to do it freehand. There are times when I do it freehand also, but those are very simple designs and they take a long time.

This was made specifically for the welcome of Lord Ganeshji and the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Shubh Labh what is written means Good Luck, and this picture of a pot and flower also represents Good luck. When we begin anything new in our home we use a copper pot like this and in it we place leaves and coconut. It is a symbol of bringing prosperity in to our home.

The another one that I did was this, it was a difficult one and there were multiple stencils which had to be set in the pattern. I like the output of this one.

Making Rangoli is a very joyful activity, I find it very meditative also as while making it I get so engrossed in it and like completely blank from all the other things in the world. The next one I will make during Diwali.
