- saras pool party
Sara was a little ball of excitement as she counted down the hours to her sixth birthday party. She had been planning this day for months, carefully choosing the invitations and making sure that everyone from her family was invited. It was going to be a pool party, complete with a barbecue and all of her favorite foods. She couldn't wait to celebrate her special day with all of her loved ones.
As the day of the party arrived, Sara jumped out of bed and ran to her parents' room to wake them up. "It's my birthday! It's my birthday!" she shouted, bouncing up and down on the bed.
Her parents groaned and rubbed their eyes, but they couldn't help but smile at their daughter's enthusiasm. They had been preparing for this day for weeks, and they were just as excited as she was.
The morning passed by in a blur of activity. Sara helped her mother prepare the decorations for the pool area, carefully hanging up balloons and streamers. Her father worked on getting the barbecue ready, making sure that there was plenty of food for everyone. They had invited the entire block, and Sara was thrilled to see each of her friends arrive one by one. They all came bearing gifts, and Sara squealed with delight as she unwrapped each one.
Finally, it was time for the pool party to begin. The water was crystal clear, and the sun was shining down on them. Everyone was having a great time, splashing around and playing games. Sara was the center of attention, of course, and she loved all of the attention she was getting.
As the afternoon wore on, the adults started to fire up the barbecue. The smell of burgers and hot dogs filled the air, making everyone's mouths water. Sara's mother had even made a special birthday cake, decorated with pink frosting and sprinkles.
As the sun began to set, everyone gathered around the pool to sing "Happy Birthday" to Sara. She beamed with pride as she blew out the candles, feeling the warmth of the summer sun on her face.
The rest of the evening passed by in a happy blur. The adults chatted and laughed, while the kids ran around and played. Sara felt overjoyed and grateful for all of the love and attention she was getting. She knew that she was lucky to have such a wonderful family and such great friends.
As the party started to wind down, Sara's parents gathered everyone together to say goodbye. They thanked everyone for coming, and Sara hugged each of her friends tightly. She was exhausted, but so happy. This was truly the best birthday party ever.
As she crawled into bed that night, Sara reflected on the day's events. She thought about all of the fun she had had, all of the presents she had gotten, and all of the people who had come to celebrate with her. She felt a deep sense of gratitude and love, and she knew that this was a day she would never forget. It was the perfect way to ring in her sixth year of life, and she couldn't wait to see what the rest of her year had in store.
- some one leave the light on for me
Sara was a sweet little girl, but she had one big fear that kept her up at night: the dark. Every night, she would lie in bed, clutching her blankets, and imagining all sorts of monsters lurking in the shadows. It wasn't that she didn't trust her parents to keep her safe--she just hated the idea of being alone in the dark.
One day, Sara's mother Samantha came into her room to tuck her in and found a surprise in her daughter's pocket. It was a candle--a fancy one that smelled like lavender and was too expensive for a child to have bought on her own.
"Sara, where did you get this candle?" Samantha asked, trying to keep her voice calm.
"I found it in the living room," Sara said innocently. "I thought it would be nice to have some light if my nightlight ever went out."
Samantha sighed. She knew that Sara was a resourceful little girl, but she also knew that she couldn't afford to replace all of her good candles every time her daughter got scared. Still, she couldn't deny how sweet it was that her daughter was trying to take care of herself.
After some careful thought, Samantha came up with a compromise. She would buy Sara some cheap, unscented candles that she could use whenever she needed them, and she would let her keep a couple of the good candles for emergencies. In exchange, Sara promised to be careful with the good candles and to never take them without asking first.
From that day on, Sara was much happier. She had a little stash of candles in her room, and she knew that if her nightlight ever went out, she could light a candle and be safe. Over time, she even became a little bit of an expert in candles. She learned which ones burned for the longest time, which ones smelled the best, and how to blow them out without making a mess.
As Sara grew older, her fear of the dark slowly faded away. But she never forgot the comfort that her candles had given her, and she always had a candle burning in her room whenever she was studying or reading. And whenever she saw a candle that smelled like lavender, she couldn't help but smile and remember the little girl who was so afraid of the dark.
