Hello dear community:
Today I want to share with you a drawing in graphite on paper, entitled The Water Lily Hunter, made in 2007 when I was doing my higher studies in Advertising Illustration at the Fernando Estevez School of Art.
I have always loved drawing the human figure and also surrealism. Although I do not know if this work could be described as surreal, it is an imaginary of a hunter beast half man-crab, half flying plant, which stalks its prey camouflaged as a plant in lakes and ponds of rivers with little current. It is tiny, no more than 15 centimeters tall, but it is deadly and voracious hunting with its claws of crab or a species of praying mantis.
In those years I did not have a good camera so I had to use a small scanner to scan the DIN A3 on several occasions and make the composition. This is why you can see the rings of the drawing pad and the cutouts of said scan.
I hope you find it interesting. Perhaps I would be encouraged to reissue the idea with digital illustration. To like? Leave me your opinion in the comments.

Hoy quiero compartirles un dibujo en grafito sobre papel, titulado El Cazador de los Nenúfares, hecho en 2007 cuando realizaba mis estudios superiores de Ilustración Publicitaria en la Escuela de Arte Fernando Estevez.
Siempre me ha gustado mucho dibujar la figura humana y también el surrealismo. Aunque no sé si esta obra podría calificarse como surrealista, es un imaginario de una bestia cazadora mitad hombre-cangrejo, mitad planta voladora, que acecha a sus presas mimetizado como planta en lagos y charcas de ríos con poca corriente. Es diminuta, no tiene más de 15 centímetros de altura, pero es mortal y voráz cazando con sus pinzas de cangrejo o de una especie de mantis religiosa.
En esos años no disponía de una buena cámara por lo que tuve que usar un pequeño escaner para escanear el DIN A3 en varias ocasiones y hacer la composición. Es por esto que se ven las anillas del blok de dibujo y los recortes de dicho escaneo.
Espero que les parezca interesante. Quizás me anime a reeditar la idea con ilustración digital. ¿Os gustaría? Déjadme en los comentarios vuestra opinión.
