Visual arts is an appealing and expressive form of communication for kids as it gives them a chance to promote themselves and explore their creativity. An ancient saying that relates perfectly to the topic of art is, “The unexamined life is not worth living”. The power of visual art can help kids at different levels and in different ways, with challenges such as shame, fear, or guilt.
You just might be a wonderfully creative and powerful visual artist already.
It's a popular idea that children are not creative but David Quammen notes that "no one says kids aren't imaginative." This shows the dispute in the opinion on whether or not creativity imparts a person with competence or comes easily, as when children have inherited this power from their parents who have been artists themselves. While the author, Dwight D. Eisenhower, agrees with the idea that creativity is a skill that can be developed, he disagrees on whether it is inherent in the person or not. The author does agree that creativity can be developed through practice but disagrees on whether this skill comes naturally to an individual or if one has to work at it like any other skill.
