Arts and creativity are part of who we are as human beings. Human beings run on creativity. Beyond its ability to be a way of expression and joy, art plays an important role in the economy. It's inarguable that arts jobs can provide good career prospects and a marginalized individual the opportunity to create and make something that could just change the world.
I know many people think that passions like mine are dirty things you should save for your alone time at home or only use as a pastime when you're not interested in anything else but it's really not true! Anything in life becomes easy when practiced enough and any honest soul knows it better than anyone else.
The more we aim to do what is difficult out of fear, when we have no particular drive for it, the easier it becomes. C.S. Lewis In 'The Abolition of Man,' C.S. Lewis argues that as technology has advanced, men have become more and more willing to accept a life in which they are no longer creative, but dedicated to the lower-level tasks of technology and management without any self-awareness or ability for higher thinking or creativity.
The end result is a dysfunctional business entity, in which the top-level executives are constantly trying to manage below themselves. Because of this, it becomes necessary for the managers to find new ways to trick and coerce employees into following instructions without understanding why they’re doing what they’re doing.
