Why are artists always required to write something with their art?

I did some research on why abstract art is the least popular form of art some time ago. In a article I found, it said that when it comes to interpreting art, the general public is afraid of being wrong and sounding stupid when talking about art that they like. I think they want to be told what they are “supposed” to see helps to make them feel safe from being judged on their opinion. In today’s world few people want to be seen as individuals, and think for themselves. They fear not being excepted by others.

I think art is about feeling. If it makes YOU feel something as a viewer or owner that is all that matters. It is like singing it has to connect to an emotion. 1 mullion ppl can hate it but if one connects you have a buyer. There is too much great art around for ppl to buy just cause something’s nice or someone’s talented.

I agree completely. A picture is worth a1000 words, but if the viewer doesn’t understand the art language it’s gibberish to them. Some people believe the process of creating is more important then how the final art makes them feel, and some only think about how much it might be worth. There are as many way to look at something as there are eyes to look at it.
