The main reason why so many individuals are attempting to switch to growing this fruit is the huge demand for areca nuts for export. The primary reason for the enormous demand for Minang fruit is its wealth of health advantages. In fact, areca nut has been given top priority by WHO as a powerful herbal remedy. If done properly, areca nuts can grow well and yield a lot of fruit.

The environment will have an impact on betel nut growth. If areca nut is planted on land in the lowlands, which have an elevation of roughly 1–600 meters above sea level, it will be able to flourish. Additionally, areca nut plants like tropical temperatures with high soil moisture.

The next step in planting an areca nut so that it bears fruit rapidly is to continue the nursery process after locating sufficient land and the appropriate seeds. The first step is to give each person a 15 centimeter poly bag. When the soil is watered, the bottom of the polybag is then punctured to prevent water from collecting on the soil's surface. Just 2/3 of the soil containing compost should be placed inside the polybag. The areca nut seeds were previously placed in the polybag after that. The areca seeds should not be planted until they are 4-5 months old.

Because of this, aim to choose land where the soil has a pH range of 4 to 8 and receives between 700 and 4500 mm of rainfall every year. Although areca nut is a tropical plant, it still requires sunlight to survive. The stems need only 6 to 8 hours of light each day to be more robust and keep from growing too tall.

The seedlings can be moved to a larger area after waiting for around four to five months. Even when planting it, you should follow the correct processes; do not just do it randomly. Attach bamboo stakes around the areca nut to keep it organized, and keep areca palms at least 3 meters apart from one another. The growth process of areca palms will be significantly impacted by the spacing between plantings. Therefore, despite appearing unimportant, it should not be overlooked.

The areca plant must also be cared for on a regular basis, fertilized, and handled if it comes into contact with pests or diseases that affect areca plants. Given that fertilization ensures the availability of the nutrients the areca nut plant requires, it is important to take fertilization into account in order for the areca nut to bear fruit fast and produce a dense yield. Chemical and organic fertilizers are typically applied in suitable amounts when it comes to areca nut fertilizers. Areca nut trees don't require fertilization every three to four months. Consider whether fertilizing areca nuts would be excessive.

Fruit of the areca palm can be collected when it is between 4 and 5 years old. Gathering ripe fruit and harvesting fruit that is only partially ripe are the two parts of this harvest. Areca nuts can be purchased either fresh or dried. Despite having varying market prices, they all have a high selling value.
