Greetings all Felines and Hoomans of Blurtlandia!
Curator Cat here, looking around the Blurt landscape and trying to come up with some kind of plan to increase and support Pet and Animal Related Content on Blurt.
Still very wintry out there...
This venue has a nice and supportive community, and I have to think that people here have and love pets and domestic animals as much as anyone else.
Yet, I do not see very much pet related content on Blurt, and that is a bit sad.
A ”Thumbnail Analysis” suggests that the reason for this might be that we have operated most of initial life of Blurt with only FIVE tags. And I am guessing that most people have prioritized the tags they believed would attract the curators who hold large BlurtPower stakes. Similarly, I expect people have been somewhat ”restricting” the types of things they post to mostly stay on the trail of what’s perceived to be ”popularly rewarded.”
Using Our 10 Tags Wisely!
But let’s remember that we now can use TEN tags for our posts!
In the early going, #blurtimals was a somewhat common tag, but it doesn’t seem to be in use all that much, anymore.
But I believe all the pets on Blurt (and the people who take care of them!) deserve more attention!
Do love that sunshine!
I believe it is time for us to revive not only #blurtimals but to also start popularizing #blurtpets along with more specific tags like #pets #cats and #dogs.
Within my own area of cat related content, I also urge those who post cat pictures/content on Saturdays (aka “Caturday”) to use the tag #caturday, which I have been using since the start here!
Blurt is definitely still a young and developing community, and I know we must be patient and allow things to build on their schedule. But I also think it’s important that we — the pet loving community members — take the initiative to get the ball rolling and inspire directions we would like to see.
Curator Cat says: Let's have more cat content on Blurt!
I realize it may be a ”no-no” to mention ”that other site,” but I think it’s important to note that pets are not some ”small and irrelevant category.” To wit, the ”Pets” community on Hive has more than 5,000 subscribers!”
So let’s not miss out not only on a popular type of content, but also on a type of content that will help create a more diversifed mix for those who are considering joining Blurt!
And with that, I wish you all a great remainder of your Sunday!

No. 35 of many more to come!
I also have two pets. Need to share about them. And I like to see a Good Pet Lover Community In Blurt.
I believe having a Pet Lovers Community would be good for Blurt, in part because it is a popular category many people can relate to. And it offers a contrast to crypto type content.
