Goat is one of the most domesticated and peaceful animal in Bangladesh. Goats can usually survive by eating all kinds of food items. A goat first achieves calving capacity at 6 to 7 months. It gives 2 to 4 babies at a time. A Khasi goat weighs 15-20 kg in 12-15 months. This gosht is very tasty. The price of this gosht is much higher than other goshts. Goats are a very important animal resource in Bangladesh. Goats are one of the main sources of income for the poor in our country. Goats play a vital role in reducing unemployment and poverty in Bangladesh. Most of the income from goat rearing in this country comes from Black Bengal breed goats.
A goat is called a poor cow because it takes a lot of money, a lot of space and food to raise a cow so a cow cannot be reared by all the poor people but there is no cost to raise a goat and in a small space.
