Look up Zomia. It's only over a millennia older, still thriving, and over 100 million people.

Then there's a few more times in history, in the last 100 years when anarchist societies formed..

The Ojibwe did have a logical political organization, but lacked in central authority, since no head chief could obtain more power than his own tribe and Tribal councils would only occur very rarely.
