Wrong Time, Wrong Place, Right Reckoning - Fall

The best climbing-themed movie I have ever seen was Vertical Limit, directed by Martin Campbell. I have watched the movie many times and each time I watched it, I felt the same excitement and enjoyment as the first time I watched it.

What reminded me of this movie was the opening scene in Fall, which I just watched. Just like in Vertical Limit, the climbing story of our heroes begins with the death of a loved one while climbing. Blaming themselves for this tragic accident, our heroes don't see each other for a while and take a break from climbing.

Even though the similarities in the opening scenes are the reason for me to compare the two films, Vertical Limit still holds its place at the top of my best movie category. Fall was far behind Vertical Limit in terms of acting, shooting and location.

The story of Fall is about two women who are into climbing and attempt to climb a 2,000 meter high radio tower. Our heroines, who are close friends, have to face some common problems during and after the climb. During this confrontation, they have plenty of time as they are trapped at the top of the tower on an iron grate the size of an oversized pizza.

It was strange to watch Becky (played by Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (played by Virginia Gardner), who have two very different personalities, go from being so physically close to each other to growing apart.

You're stranded at 2,000 meters and the space you're in is too small for one person, but two people have to share it. And all the while you're being played behind your back, you're aware of lies and betrayal. If you want to get away you can't, if you want to be alone you can't.

I found the movie mediocre in general and in terms of the progression of the story, but these moments of contradiction and the struggle for survival were worth watching. The biggest plus was the way the twist at the end was added to the story.

Like every living being, I will die one day, but I don't want it to happen in two ways. One is to fall from a height and the other is to burn to death! In climbing-themed movies, the first option constantly comes to my mind and makes me sweat. Considering that I have an insurmountable fear of heights, I have no idea why I watch such movies. Maybe, subconsciously, to overcome the fear!

Fall is a movie that can give you a good time, but don't expect too much. You will enjoy it more that way. Pay attention to the twist at the end! I wish a good time to everyone who will watch it.
