In today's Wednesday walk, I will show you shots from the Burgas Saltworks area, located east of the Atanasovo Lake.
The area is protected and it is forbidden to pollute, build on, hunt or disturb in any way the normal rhythm of the animal or plant world.
As I cycled through the dirt road I saw many elderberry bushes.
I also saw a plant that resembles a giant dandelion - Yellow salsify (western goat's-beard).
I saw fig trees and plum trees.
There are informational signs along the way, from which you can learn that this area is home to one of the largest colonies of saberbills, stilts, little terns and river terns.
My cycling continued to the artificial lake next to the Sokata quarry.
The view from this side is beautiful, although there is a steep section to get down. On the other side of the lake, access is prohibited.
Despite the steep section, I got down near the water to have a closer look. The wind pleasantly blew the reeds and furrowed the water surface.
I went back the same way, finding a lot of wild wormwood on the way, and even a cart passed me while I was taking pictures.
Thank you for stopping by!
