I recently started to ride a Mountain bike, in total I did 4 rides on the MTB, two of which was on my newly bought bike. I bought a near bottom of the range hard tail. It does have front shocks, shimano gears and hydrolic disk brakes.
I am planning to take part in my first race this Saturday. (@ 60 years old) I am thus doing a bit of gym work to try and improve my fitness levels.
I entered an shortish race of 40km, and hope to complete it with not to many problems. The thing that gives me the most issues at the current moment is that hard seat, it is a real pain in the butt. I had a bike fitment done, and it was set up for comfort, but at the moment, it is not comfortable, I suppose I need more real saddle time to get used to it.
I have been going to the gym for some time and has been making some slow progress.
