It's been wonderful stepping it out 💯, now that it's almost bedtime 💤 let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and also share some of the trending stories. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I started the day with lots of brisk walking around the neighbourhood, today was a little warmer than yesterday which motivated me to keep going. Then I was back indoors for some resting and some of the little household chores here and there. Later in the afternoon I had to get something to cook from the shopping centre. Then back home I squeezed in the usual nap before the evening set in. Next came the slow paced evening walking session enjoying the cool breeze🍃.Throughout the day I have been following up on the trending news and also the world cup, that's next.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹.
On the continent, Sudan's army has called on retired soldiers to re enlist despite ceasefire efforts🙀. The ceasefire agreed on Monday seems to be holding after several breaches from the warring sides.
Trending in Europe, Serbia ordered its army towards the border after violence between ethnic Serbs and police in Northern Kosovo🙀. Police used teargas to disperse the ethnic Serbs gathered outside a govt office in Zvecan.
Over in Ukraine, at least two people killed and 16 injured in Russia missile strike on a hospital in Dnipro😭. Ukraine described the strike as a crime against humanity and a war crime under Geneva conventions.
Across the pond in the US, president Biden and republican speaker Kevin McCarthy reportedly near deal to raise US debt ceiling. A default could upend global financial markets and push the US into a major recession🙀. However, the two are closing in on a deal that would raise the govt's $31.4 trillion debt ceiling for two years while capping spending on most programmes.
Finally in crazy weather, intense storms have hit south east Australia with heavy rain, hail and snow🙀. A similar situation reported in Spain as heavy torrential rain hit Mediterranean towns causing flooding in some areas.
