Hello everyone π,
TGIF β¨ and a very warm welcome to my world π. This week has just flown by and alas the weekend is here yet againπΉ. As always I am so grateful for this day. It's been wonderful stepping it out π―, now that it's almost bedtime π€ let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and also share some of the trending stories. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away π¨.
So I started the day with some brisk walking around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for some resting and some of the little household chores here and there. Later in the afternoon I had to get something to cook from the shopping centre. Then back home I squeezed in the usual nap before the evening set in. Next came the slow paced evening walking session enjoying the cool breezeπ. Throughout the day I have been following up on the trending news, that's next.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans πΉ.
On the continent, Mali trending as 97% of voters say yes to changes in the constitution following a referendum. Elections expected to take place in Feb 2024 for a new civilian govt.
Globally, Israel trending as UN warns of the escalating violence in the occupied west bankπ. Israeli national security minister Ben Gvir has promised support to settlers even after they raided Palestinian homes. He further called for large-scale military operation even if thousands of people get killedπ‘. The UN has discouraged use of military grade weaponry.
Let's go to Europe, France trending as the 2 day finance summit came to an end. Kenyan president also in attendance as they discussed fairer global lending to developing countries. Pausing debt repayment for countries dealing with natural disasters caused by global warming π―.
Across the pond in the US, multiple states have introduced legislation to ban books from public libraries and schools. Book restrictions have surged 40% in the US with over 2,000 titles being banned or challengedπ.
Finally, down under in Australia, Russia has taken the Australian govt to court after they were denied permission of putting up a consulate building in Canberra citing security risksπΉ. Let's see how that goes.
Anyway, allow me to stop here for today, but do watch out for furry boy BobπΉ and yours truly tomorrow on an amazing Caturday π. Until then stay safe, take care and adiosπππ Hakuna Matata π
