TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us yet again and I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive 💯. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some errands done at the city centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹. There were demonstrations by the opposition against the high taxes and ever rising prices of commodities. At some point tear gas was thrown as protesters tried to access the city centre🙀. There are rumours someone was shot dead😭.
On the continent, hundreds of African migrants have been thrown out of Tunisia and are stuck at an area close to Libyan border. Libyan officials also won't let them in too🙀. Something's gotta give.
Globally, Ukraine trending as the US plans to send them cluster bombs🙀. A cluster bomb releases multiple explosive sub munitions and spreads them in a large area. So they have a high failure rate and do not all detonate. They can litter landscapes for decades🙀, then finally end up killing or injuring. They have been banned by more than 100 countries. Fingers crossed they won't use them.
Meanwhile, president Zelensky is on a visit to Turkey and had talks with his counterpart Erdogan. Ukraine want renewal of grain shipment that was brokered by Turkey and they are also after NATO membership.
Across the pond in the US, the shooter involved in the Walmart shooting in El Paso, got 90 life sentences😹. Well deserved for the racist killings he committed.
Let's go to Asia, where the radioactive waste water from Fukushima in Japan will be dumped in the Pacific ocean🙀. They say it poses no danger, China says they will maintain a ban on imported food from Japan😹
