I thank you all for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹.
Globally, Ukraine trending, Russia has attacked more facilities storing grain in the port city of Odessa🙀. Russia has launched several airstrikes since Ukraine attacked the bridge linking Crimea and mainland Russia.
The UN is warning of a hunger disaster if Ukraine will be unable to export that grain to areas of Africa and Asia that depends on it.
Meanwhile, Putin has warned Poland against any attack on Belarus😹. Remember Belarus and Wagner mercenaries have been carrying out military exercises close to the Polish border.
Also trending in Europe, the governing conservatives in the UK have lost two by elections to Labour. Then Italian police have seized the largest haul of cocaine of 5.3 tonnes valued at $940 million🙀.
Let's go to Israel, where thousands of protesters have marched from tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This against proposed judicial reforms that they say will weaken the supreme court and push Israel far from democracy and into autocracy🙀.
Across the pond in the US, tributes have been pouring in for legendary singer Tonny Bennett who has passed away aged 96😭. I feel that it's a life to be celebrated because he achieved so much🎊.Then the trial of former president Donald Trump has been set for May 2024, I wonder why they can't do it earlier?
Finally in crazy weather, the wind has reignited the wild fires around Athens in Greece causing many to be evacuated from their homes. Let's hope the heat subsides and they can get control of those fires💯.
