Hello everyone π,
Happy Thursday π and a very warm welcome to my world π. A wonderful day fading away fast and as always I am raring to go with my stepping activities and some of the trending news. We are slowly heading into the month of August. Thank you for being here yet again π and let's dig in π¨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking π£ and jogging around the neighbourhood π². A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze π. I had a rather short session then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the shopping centre for some food. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news, reading a few stuff before bedtime. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept goingπΉ; today was day two of opposition protests, small protests here and there but nothing major.
Globally, Belarus trending as the Wagner mercenaries and Belarusian soldiers carried out military exercises close to border with Polandπ. Poland responded by moving troops closer to that border just in caseπΉ.
Let's go to the middle east, Iraq trending as protesters set fire to the Swedish embassyπ. There has been anger and protests after an Iraqi refugee in Sweden burned the quran. The Iraqi PM has ordered expulsion of Swedish ambassador from the countryπ.
Across the pond, Colombia trending as they celebrated independence dayπ. Today was also the start of a new legislative session. President Gustavo Petro's govt will push for reforms in labour, healthcare and pensions π―.
China trending too as former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger paid president Xi Jing ping a visit. The 100 year old Kissinger is a seasoned diplomat, I remember reading of how he arranged that historic visit by president Nixon to China back in the dayπΉ.
Finally, the FIFA women's world cup is under way. This time being co hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Though not as popular as the men's event it is still worth watching especially the last few matches and of course the finals.
I will be watchingπΉ.
So that was Thursday and I wanna thank you for reading this far π. I truly appreciate your continued support π and love π. Sending back that love π and lots of blessings πΌπ to everyone.
Check me out yet again tomorrow on an amazing high five Friday π. Until then keep stepping and enjoying yourselves to the max π―.
So that's it, stay safe, take care and good bye πππ Hakuna Matata π.
